downtown · A small, quiet downtown Huntington Beach park: passive green space with walking paths and a flag pole, home to the rentable Memorial Hall. Not a playground stop, but a calm patch of grass close to downtown.

No playground here: it's open lawn and walking paths, not a destination for kids to climb on.

  • Memorial Hall on-site is a rentable event space, not open play.

the bluffs · A bluff-top Huntington Beach park with toddler and child playground equipment, restrooms, and open turf for picnics, away from the busier Central Park crowds.

A calmer alternative to Central Park, with ocean-bluff views.

  • 24-car lot: can fill on a nice weekend, get there before midday.

Goldenwest & Talbert · Orange County's largest city park (350+ acres) with two playgrounds built for different ages: the west side has a zip line and a separate small-kids section; the east side is rubber-surfaced with climbing towers, slides, and a playhouse. Restrooms, lakes, trails, and a nature center fill out the grounds.

Two separate playgrounds: west (zip line + toddler section) and east (rubber surface, playhouse), worth knowing before you pick a parking lot.

  • Adventure Playground (the rafting/mudslide one) is CLOSED for the 2026 season, don't plan around it.
  • Big enough to spend a whole afternoon: lakes, nature center, and trails beyond the playgrounds.
